The 2025 Best Warrior Competition, hosted by the Enlisted Association of the Maryland National Guard, is a multi-day event designed to challenge and identify the most skilled and resilient Soldiers and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) within the Maryland National Guard. Participants will undergo a series of rigorous mental and physical trials, including marksmanship, land navigation, physical fitness assessments, and military knowledge evaluations. This competition aims to foster camaraderie, showcase individual excellence, and prepare service members for future leadership roles.
A Year-Round Journey to Distinction
For these Citizen-Soldiers the Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition is more than just a 10-
day event – it’s a year-long journey that begins at the Company level and culminates at the National stage. Each participating command selects its finest enlisted Soldier and Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) to represent their unit, with the ultimate goal of being crowned the Army National Guard’s National Best Warrior.

- Long Distance Ruck March
- Physical Fitness Testing
